Global Boiler Aalborg A/S – Expands its presence /Capacity in Middle East
Global Boiler Aalborg A/S have announced their decision today to acquire Dubai based boiler repair company “Steam Global Marine”. The new company will trade as “Global Boiler Middle East” and will increase the local presence of Global Boiler Aalborg A/S in the Middle East Region.
Strategically, Global Boiler Middle East will be a major factor in developing the Global Boiler group of companies, creating an important link with our facilities in Europe and Singapore. This is an important step in being able to provide local support to our existing and new clients.
The new company has a full boiler workshop with approx. 100 tons of boiler tube materials, boiler plates, all specialist equipment and an experienced and skilled workforce. Global Boiler Middle East can provide the full range of boiler services including inspections, manufacture & supply of spare parts, mobilisation of repair teams – all the way through to job completion, with technical engineering support provided by Global Boiler Aalborg in Denmark.
Having the workshop facility and manpower based locally in the Middle East Region will allow us to provide a faster response time to our clients trading in the region, coupled with more cost-effective solutions to any boiler problems.
Global Boiler Middle East is strategically placed to offer easy and fast attendance at the 4 major yards in the region – Dqum in Oman, ASRY in Bahrain, NKOM in Qatar and of course DDWD in Dubai.
We are also well placed for fabrication of spare parts and repairs for the busy local LNG market as many of the vessels dock in the Gulf yards. The tanker trade is also very brisk in the Gulf region, with plenty scope for GBME to capture their share of the boiler repair market.
The largest container port in the Middle East Region is also on our doorstep at Jebel Ali, which turns around hundreds of all type of vessels weekly – providing another marketplace to be explored – with fruitful results.
Palani Kumar, founder, owner and Managing Director of Steam Global Marine, added “the acquisition will increase both companies profiles here in the Middle East providing us with a larger platform from which we can increase our market share in a very tight market environment” Uffe Nyborg Johansen, founder and CEO of Global Boiler Aalborg A/S, commented “the acquisition of Steam Global Marine provides a major growth opportunity for both our businesses through an extended service offering to our existing clients as well as to new customers. We will be best positioned to support them on that journey”
